Thanksgiving 2009

What a wonderful Thanksgiving we had this year--celebrating with 2 dinners! We went to my parents on Thursday, ate a lot, and spent the rest of the day playing Guitar Hero. We had so much fun. On Friday, we headed up to Mike's parents, ate a lot, and yeah, you guessed it...played Guitar Hero. We had so much fun!

Gabe's preschool Thanksgiving program!

Yesterday was Gabe's Thanksgiving program, and it was absolutely adorable! I was amazed to see my little boy up on stage, smiling, and singing all of the songs and using his hand motions. His smile got even bigger when he spotted daddy and mommy in the audience. They sang a few songs, and then we ate a Thanksgiving lunch afterwards!

Christmas Parade!

Saturday was the annual Christmas parade, and the kids loved it! The parade marched through town, and ended up at the courthouse square where they had a tree lighting ceremony and the mayor read "Twas the Night Before Christmas". We took plenty of pictures!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

We have been busy, busy, busy...decorating for the holidays! Christmas is my favorite time of the year, and I always want to decorate as soon as possible so that we can just relax and enjoy the holidays! So below are some pictures! The first picture is from last night--Emma went to a birthday party with about 10 to 15 other little girls from her class. It was WILD, but they had so much fun. Emma liked playing in the ball pit.

Race Day! Another 5K under my belt!

Saturday I participated in a 5K that was sponsored by the local hospital. It ended up being perfect weather for it! My official time was 30:41:4 and I placed 8th out of 29 females in my age group. I averaged a 9:54/mile, and overall I placed 169th out of almost 400 participants! Woo hoo-GO ME! Below are some pictures from race day! FYI: The race was held at Freeman Lake, and afterwards Mike was taking some practice shots with his camera. All of the pictures were taken after the race.

Busy, Busy, Busy!

We have been so busy lately! Today we had our Christmas pictures taken which turned out great! I am so happy to already have my Christmas cards ready! The kids did GREAT, and smiled and gave us some great shots! We also had pictures taken with Mike's family, and then we were treated to dinner afterwards at Carrabas!

Looking at the pictures tonight, Mike and I were just amazed at how much our babies have grown! Emma is doing wonderful in Kindergarten and has adjusted quite well. Her first parent/teacher conference went well, and we heard all about how our little girl is so smart and so sweet. Her teacher is wonderful and believes in challenging her students!

Gabe is doing well at preschool. He is happy to go, and even happier when I am there to pick him up. His teacher told me that he wasn't talking a lot in the beginning, but is starting to come out of his shell. And he did well on his testing! He is a smart little cookie! He has come home every day with a smiley face, which he shows me so proudly!

I spend my days dropping off/picking up--but I don't mind it a bit. I am so blessed to be a stay-at-home mom! We live less than 2 miles from Emma's school which I love. On the days that Gabe goes to preschool I spend my mornings at the gym. Speaking of...I ran my 3rd 5K marathon yesterday, and am so proud! It was a very hard run for me, but I never did stop--and I ended up with a time of 30:42! I was so happy! I just love that sense of accomplishment! This is something that I do that is solely for ME, and I am so happy to have a supportive husband who encourages me! I have pictures from the marathon and will post them soon.

And now the holidays are right around the corner, and life will be getting even more crazy. But I am looking forward to every minute of it!

Halloween Night!

We had so much fun trick-or-treating last night. I think there was a record number of spooks out in our neighborhood! The kids had a blast! My twin sister came up to bring her daughter trick-or-treating too. Hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween!
