Emma's first ballet recital!

Emma's ballet recital was held on May 23rd, which also happened to be our 11th wedding anniversary! It was a full house too! The musical was awesome, and Emma's little group (french poodles) were absolutely adorable! They did great! Below are pictures from the big day!

Dinosaur World!

On Saturday, we went to my niece's b-day party at Dinosaur World. The kids had a great time playing on the playground, digging for fossils, and going on the dinosaur walk. Below are some pictures from the party!

My honey and I--we'll celebrate our 11th anniversary on May 23rd--what an amazing 11 years it has been!

Wild Tigers!!

Tonight was Emma's first t-ball game! It was so exciting, and her team, the "Wild Tigers", did great! They played against the "Ladybugs". I ended up helping out the dugout, and helped the girls get ready to bat. It was very stressful trying to line up 4, 5, and 6 year old girls and get them out of the dugout in time to bat! And one little girl was holding a caterpillar, and didn't want to go out to bat. I told her I would hold it for her, and she gave it to me and out she went! Hey, at least it got her out in time!

Emma did great at batting from the tee the first time--she made it to third base before it was time to let the other team bat. When it was time for her team to go out to the field, Emma kept standing with her back turned to the batter! I told her to turn around and face the batter, and that is when she told me that the sun was in her eyes! We also noticed that she was talking to the coach a lot. Well, after the game was over, he came up to me laughing, and asked Emma if she was still tired. Apparently, she had told him out on the field that she was tired, and that we shouldn't be having games on preschool days! She's not afraid to speak her mind!

But she tells us that she LOVES playing, and she always looks forward to going.

We went to my parents on Sunday, and papaw helped Gabe ride the tricycle.

Field trip to the farm!

Emma's class went on a field trip last Monday, and they had a great time. Mike's parents were in from Germany and staying with us, and they went with us on the trip. Emma and Gabe were so excited to have Nana and Grandpa with us!

OMG, these baby kittens were so adorable. I ALMOST wanted to take one home with me.

I took a picture of Emma on the hay ride, and Gabe and I rode on the wagon as well. The kids had a great time! The owners of the farm are members of the church that runs Emma's preschool, and they invite the preschool classes every year. The kids really do love it.

Tee Ball--first practice!

Emma's tee ball team held their first practice on Friday,April 24th. She loved practice, and after it was over and we were walking out to the jeep, she told me, "mommy, everyone loved my nails!" I looked at her and said, "really?" Her team is made up of all little girls, and apparently they loved Emma's freshly painted nails. Oh boy, this is going to be a fun season! I have never seen so much pink! Pink batting helmets, pink bats, pink gloves. I feel sorry for the 2 male coaches! ha ha! So far they have practiced 2 times. Starting next week, they will begin practicing Tuesdays and Fridays.

Easter coloring contest!!

Okay, so a few weeks a go, before Easter, my sister and I took the kids to the Louisville Zoo. On the way back, we were starving and stopped at a hamburger place to eat. They were having an Easter coloring contest, and Emma entered her sheet. Well, we received a message about a week later that Emma's entry had won in her age group! We were all so excited! So we planned another trip to the zoo, and stopped on the way to pick up Emma's prize at the restaurant. On the way up, Emma kept talking about her "surprise" and she was guessing what it would be. Apparently, she wasn't expecting a stuffed duck. When the manager brought out her prize, she said, "I don't want a duck!" I was horrified! The nice manager was smiling as he handed Emma her prize, and believe me, she was not smiling! See for yourself below! (She also received a $15 gift card to the restaurant.)
