I asked Emma today why she took off all of her baby dolls clothes. She told me, "Because mommy they need some fresh air sometimes!" What can you say to that? And today she drew a picture of a flower and a watering can, and it was so good that I took a picture of it and will post it later. She amazes me with her artistic ability. Her favorite thing in the world is to draw and color and paint, and her little pictures she makes are amazing. I can't wait to post one of them on here!
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around the Tharpe house. I have most of my decorations out, except for the tree. I am thinking I want a real tree this year. If not, then I want to get a new artificial one. Our old one as seen better days! Oh, and yesterday when Emma was in ballet class, it was snowing! By the time class was over and we were getting in the van, it was coming down pretty hard! Emma and Gabe were both so excited. And of course it stopped and everything melted, but it was so great while it lasted.
More to come...Stay tuned!

Lella!
This morning we were in Emma's room. Gabe pointed to her clock and said, "Lella". She has a Cinderella clock in her room, and he knows Cinderella from the movie! Just to make sure, I pointed to it and asked him who she was, and he said, "lella!" It was SO CUTE!! He will get Emma's wand and go around the house saying, "bibbidy bobbidy boooooooo"! But just so that you know, he plays with his tools, trains and cars most of the time. I have pictures of him in Emma's princess shoes, and I know one day he is going to get so mad at me for taking them! I can't help it--it's so darn cute. Lella!
Emma saw the snowman on my blog, and she asked me why he was melted! My babies always make me laugh!

Emma and the class bear
Emma was star of the week for her class this week, which meant she brought home the class bear--Corduroy! I took some pictures for her class journal, and wanted to share them on the blog. Of course, the first thing she did when we got home was set up a tea party for her special guest!

Of course, she didn't share any of her cinnamon roll!
The first thing she did was have a tea party with him, after she changed into her witch costume, circa 2006.

Gabe's fear of dolls...
I know, I know...I skipped Thanksgiving and jumped right into Christmas. I can't help it--this snowman was too cute to wait for! And Christmas is my favorite time of year, so why not start celebrating now? I have most of the kids' shopping done too--I'm so proud of myself! We are taking our Christmas pictures on Saturday, so that we get our Christmas cards back in time. Hopefully, Gabe will do okay. Jessica has a way of getting a good one of him regardless.
Tonight, I was giving Emma and Gabe a bath, and Emma brought one of her barbies in the tub, and Gabe was not fond of it to say the least. The dolls don't scare him just sitting in her room, but when she brings them in the bath, he becomes scared! Oh, and he is really scared of her 2 "head dolls"--the ones that have hair for styling but no body. She had her Dora one in the tub the other night, and it was floating in the water and he started crying and I had to get him out of the tub. So now when Emma wants to bring those dolls into the tub, we have to give them separate baths. Yesterday Emma was playing with a barbie downstairs, and she started chasing him with it and he hid behind me holding onto my leg. Oh, the joys of mother hood!
Mike and I are the proud owners of a Wii. I LOVE it. He was able to purchase it through his wellness program at work, and we also bought the wii fit. My muscles have been sore all week! Emma loves it too! I love being able to work out in the basement of my own home!

Gabe update
Okay, my kids have been sicker this season then EVER BEFORE! Emma recently got over a nasty week-long virus, and now Gabe has croup. He has had a cold for a few days, and even ran a fever for one night. But this morning he woke up with that "barking" cough. After we voted, I took him to the doctor and of course he has the croup, and his ears were a little red signifying a possible ear infection. He is on a steroid, an antibiotic and albuterol. The albuterol smells horrible, and it was not easy getting it down him. I am not looking forward to giving him his medicine tomorrow, that's for sure!
Today is Election Day. Mike and I took the kids and went this morning to vote before he went to work. They had a kid's voting booth set up, and Emma got to vote! Of course, mommy had to help her, but she voted for McCain/Palin, and received a sticker. I have been watching the results, and am glad to see McCain won Kentucky!

I've been tagged!
Okay, I was tagged on this one, and it's so much fun reading other people's quirks!

Quirk #1: I am a clean freak! You will always find spotless toilets and floors at my house. I really love seeing the lines in the carpet after I vacuum. And I can't stand to see water spots on the mirror--they must go! I make up beds every day!
Quirk #2: I care nothing about organization! My house is spotless, but please don't look inside my drawers. My closet is pretty organized, thanks to Mike. Yep, I'm the cleaner, he's the organizer. Oh, and if you ever look inside my purse/bag, you might not ever find your way back. It's pretty bad.
Quirk #3: Actually, this really isn't a quirk, but something that's very true: I think I have ADD. I might be looking at you while you are speaking, but my mind might be planning dinner. It drives Mike crazy. He will finish talking, and I will ask something, and he will ask, "Were you not listening to anything I just said?". Nope...I was probably thinking about what the kids will wear in their Christmas pictures!
#4: I like pasta. I like shrimp. I DO NOT like pasta and shrimp combined.
#5: Okay, I know I said I'm not organized. And that is very true. However, I do like to arrange the kids' books by seasons and holidays.
#6: I don't like to talk or smile when I get up in the morning. I try to be civil for the kids, but its HARD!!

Trick or Treat!
Below are pictures from Emma's preschool Halloween party, the playgroup's party, and trick-or-treating! Emma loves trick-or-treating, but it took Gabe a few houses before he got the hang of it. It was so cute--he would climb out of the wagon, grab his tools, and march up to the door. And if the candy bowl was within his reach, he would stick his little hand in the bowl to try and swipe a few extra pieces! I made treat bags for the spooks that came to our door, and Emma loved handing them out. There were only a few who were too scary for her, and she would give me the honor of handing them out!
