Halloween Night!
We had so much fun trick-or-treating last night. I think there was a record number of spooks out in our neighborhood! The kids had a blast! My twin sister came up to bring her daughter trick-or-treating too. Hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween!

Emma's Kindergarten Halloween Party!
Does anyone else feel like they have been celebrating Halloween for too long? I don't mean to be a grinch or anything, but every October our weekends are filled with Halloween activities! It's been fun, but I'm ready for Halloween to be over !
Okay, so yesterday I went to Emma's Halloween party. Let me tell you...it was the most organized party I have ever been too. Mrs. Mackey is a wonderful teacher, and I think to be a good teacher you have to be organized! She had 4 centers set up, and each group had 6 kids in it. There was a center for food, a center for crafts, and 2 centers for games. I helped in the craft center and the kids were so sweet and had so much fun! They would spend about 15 minutes in each center, and then rotate to the next center, and kept doing this until they had completed all centers. It was just wonderful! Below are the pictures from Emma's first Kindergarten party!

Gabe's First Preschool Halloween Party!
Wednesday was Gabe's Halloween party at preschool. He had so much fun doing a craft (he LOVES painting)! Then they played a game and had a snack. He has a wonderful teacher too--she has a gift with 3 year olds. The school decided not to dress up this year...instead, they celebrated with having an "orange" day--kids dressed in orange, and they had orange snacks, etc. And they had a ball! Below are some pictures I took!

Okay, in this picture Gabe was mad. He would not crack 1 smile for me! I can't even remember what he was upset about--I think he was all partied out at this point.

Gabe's First Preschool Field Trip!
Yesterday Gabe got to go on his first preschool field trip and we went to an orchard! He had so much fun, and we had some great mommy and Gabe time! The first thing we did was go on a hay ride with his class! We rode through the orchard and ended up at the pumpkin patch. Gabe picked out his pumpkin, then we went to the store to buy some apples. He wanted one to eat right away because they were sooooo good, and he LOVES apples! They gave out samples of apple cider, and Gabe and I both loved it and had to buy some. Then he wanted to go play on the playground, so I watched him slide and jump and run! It was really cute how they had it set up. On his last jump, he landed hard and started to cry. He said his ankle was hurting, and then ended up limping the rest of the day, and he's still limping today. But I was talking to a physical therapist today after school (who's son is in Gabe's class) and he watched Gabe and told me that it definitely wasn't broken if Gabe was walking and running on it (which he is). If he's still limping in 2 to 3 days then I will take him to get evaluated, but I really think he just strained something! I swear, he jumps ALL THE TIME! Of course, this is the same little boy who had stitches in his chin before he was even 2!
My sweet boy playing! He loved the orchard, and today on the way to school he told me he wanted to go to the "pumpkin patch" again!

Trick-or-Treating at the zoo!
Mike and I took the kids to the Louisville Zoo's Halloween Party Friday night. It was cold and rainy, but the kids loved it. Mike and I always love taking them them there. It is for kids 11 and under, and the zoo staff is dressed in storybook character costumes. It's all about not being scary! The kids get to trick or treat at the different stations throughout the zoo, and they loved getting the candy of course. The last stop was the "haunted" carousel ride--which runs backward for Halloween! :)

Fall Break at Great Wolf Lodge!
For Fall Break, we took the kids to the Great Wolf Lodge in Cincinatti and had a wonderful family Fall getaway! Before checking in on Monday, we went to the Cincinatti Zoo which was really nice! Then we went on to the hotel, checked into our room, and hit the water park and stayed until closing! On Tuesday we went to Newport Aquarium which the kids loved! And Wednesday was a hotel day--we spent the entire day in the water park and at the lodge. Oh yeah, I was able to sneak in a 30-minute massage too. :) The kids loved everything about the lodge--especially the water park. Emma was so brave and rode all of the big water slides with mommy or daddy. We all rode together on one slide too--Gabe loved it and wanted to ride it again, which we did! Below are pictures from our mini vacation!

Clock Tower--they had story night here every night at 8!
The huge water park which was so kid friendly. Actually, everything about this lodge was kid friendly! It was great for little ones!
Emma LOVED all of the water slides. She has become so brave in the water! Gabe rode on the water slides too and loved it--not as many as Emma of course. They had a family hot tub, and we all LOVED that!

The Wolf Den with their bunk beds--another big hit. They loved them, and slept until 9 each morning! It was so cute--there were paintings of wolf cubs on the wall.
